Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Quantum-Art is an early-growth full-stack quantum computing company developing state-of-the-art quantum computing systems based on trapped-ion technology, encompassing both hardware and software.
The CFO will oversee all company financial operations, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, budgeting, and financial risk management, at an exciting growth and expansion stage of the company. The CFO will report directly to the CEO and work closely with executive team members, as part of the company’s management, to drive financial strategy and business growth. We are looking for a hands-on CFO with the experience and ability to drive the company to strategic opportunities and international expansion.
Job description
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy, Planning, and Analysis
- Develop a dynamic financial model and financial roadmap aligned with the Company’s long-term vision.
- Lead the annual and ongoing budgeting processses, in alignment with the Company’s strategic goals and work program.
- Conduct scenario planning and analysis, including revenue, cost, burn rate, and runway to ensure financial resilience.
- Strong experience in raising capital from US based growth and deep tech investors.
- Design capital allocation strategies, including aspects of internal vs. external collaborations and acquisitions.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks. Develop contingency plans and prepare for economic shifts or unexpected market changes or opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage investor relations, capital markets startegy, relations with analysts, and financial institutions.
Cash Flow Management & Operational Efficiency
- Manage and optimize cash flow and working capital to extend the Company’s runway.
- Implement cost-saving measures and improve operational efficiency by streamlining financial processes.
- Define and track key performance indicators and business metric to enable data-driven decision-making.
Financial reporting and oversight of accounting and tax functions
- Oversee all accounting practices, including reporting and audits, accounts payable / recievable, payroll, and tax compliance. Currently – based on external service providers.
- Establish robust internal controls and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, to prepare for audits and due diligence processes.
- Select and implement scalable financial systems that can grow with the company.
Requirements and skills
- 10+ years experience in finance, including experience as a CFO, in a technological startup (hardware preferred).
- Hands-on, details driven, adaptable mindset, combined with strategic thinking.
- Experience in growth startegies like M&A, IPO’s etc.
- Strong understanding of financial planning and analysis, accounting, and risk management.
- Experience and profficiency in developing and implementing strategies that align with organizational goals, including financial modelling, data analysis, and financial tools and systems.
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- MBA + BA in finance, accounting, or related field. CPA preferred.
