Operations Manager

Quantum-Art is a full-stack quantum computing company developing state-of-the-art quantum computing systems based on trapped-ion technology, encompassing both hardware and software. The OperationsManager will own and scale all operational domains, including office and laboratory operations, facilities and premises management, vendor and subcontractor relationships, regulatory compliance, and future production and logistics activities. This role is pivotal for all aspects of operation of the company, working closely with engineering, research, and executive leadership.

Company, labs, and systems infrastructure

• Define and maintain infrastructure program for company assets, labs, systems and facilities operations, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
• Manage lab infrastructure including utilities, HVAC, power, networking, safety systems, and specialized R&D environments.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance plans, service schedules, and emergency response procedures.
• Ensure operational readiness for sensitive experiments and critical R&D activities.
• Own service and maintenance contracts and interface with service providers
• Contact with building infrastructure and operational team

Vendor & Subcontractor Management

• Source, onboard, and manage vendors, service providers, and subcontractors.
• Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, SLAs, and renewals.
• Work with R&D team to define needs
• Monitor vendor performance, cost efficiency, and compliance with technical, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Logistics, Inventory & Assets

• Oversee logistics, inventory, and asset management for lab equipment, tools, consumables, and office infrastructure.
• Coordinate imports, exports, and customs processes.

Compliance, Safety & Regulation

• Lead the company safety committee
• Own lab and workplace safety programs, audits, inspections, and certifications.
• Maintain documentation for regulatory reviews and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with Israeli regulations, local authorities, insurance requirements, and applicable international standards.

Premises Ownership & Expansion Projects

• Own the company’s physical premises plan, including current offices and laboratories.
• Plan and manage space requirements to support team growth, new labs, and evolving technical needs.
• Lead office and lab expansion projects, including site selection, landlord engagement, planning and execution contractors and consultants, and move-in.
• Own timelines, budgets, and execution for premises-related projects, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
• Prepare basis for off-shore expansion

• 7+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in deep-tech, hardware, or advanced R&D environments, including infrastructure, procurement, and project management (methodology and implementation).
• Capability to analyze complex operational issues and implement effective solutions.
• Strong experience with vendors, contractors, and construction / fit-out projects.
• Solid understanding of regulatory compliance and safety in Israel.
• Hands-on, structured, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing operations in technological startups or corporates, including specific experience in hardware companies. Experience in operations in companies from the electro-optics of physics areas – an advantage
• Familiarity with KPIs, financial oversight, process optimization
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Degree in a technical field and/or operations. MBA – an advantage.
