Experimental Physicist- Trap
Quantum-Art is an early-growth full-stack quantum computing company developing state-of-the-art quantum computing systems based on trapped-ion technology, encompassing both hardware and software.
As part of our mission our System, Trap and Electro-optics groups build our quantum processing units (QPUs), develop novel quantum gates and circuits, and implement new algorithms capable of solving hard computational tasks, beyond current classical computational abilities.
We are looking for an excellent, skillful experimental physicist to join our Trap Team.
Description
- Design, construct, simulate, test, and validate quantum computing systems based on trapped-ions technology.
- Develop new schemes, architectures, high fidelity gates, circuits, and use-cases for ion trap-based quantum computation.
- Maximize QPU performances, define, simulate, and measure the overall noise budget.
- Obtain efficient ways to reduce, control and mitigate leading noise sources.
- Validate and characterize the performance of QPU’s in execution of quantum algorithms and circuits.
- Extensive collaboration with the theory group, jointly leading the effort toward high performance & scalable quantum computers.
Requirements and skills
- Ph.D. in Physics/EE (outstanding candidates with M.Sc. will be considered)
- Proven work experience and relevant training in experimental physics
- Prior experience with microfabrication techniques and clean-room work - advantage
- AMO physics background –advantage
- Significant background in Quantum Science and technology - advantage
- Work experience in optics, RF, Data analysis, Cryogenics – an advantage
- Team player, very good communication, presentation, and reporting capabilities
- Software development background, working experience with Python scripting, Zeemax, Solidworks, Comsol etc.
General
- We are located at the Science Park, by the Weizmann institute.
- Full collaboration with the experimental & theoretical groups at the Weizmann Institute
